As of 2024 the XFL (Extreme Football League) and the USFL (United States Football league) have mergered to become the UFL. The “new” league features teams from both organizations. The comprising leagues probably would have failed without each other.
The league launches with it’s first game on April 30, 2024. The cities with teams are Arlington, Birmingham, D.C., Houston, memphis, Michigan, San Antonio and St. Louis.
